Standard of Passing

  1. To pass the examination, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 30% marks in each paper/head of passing and 40% in the aggregate.
  2. Exemption at F.Y. and S.Y. of B.A. and B.Com examinations: an unsuccessful candidate who obtains minimum percentage of marks prescribed for passing in a subject (Theory,Practical) may at his/her option be exempted from appearing in that subject at his/her subsequent appearance and shall be declared to have passed the whole examination on his/her passing in the remaining subject. (Theory and practicals included).
  3. There shall be no revaluation of answer books of the candidates at the F.Y. and S.Y. terminal or supplementary examinations. Personal verification of marks shall be conducted by the candidate in the presence of Principal/Vice-Principal and the concerned examiner,provided he/she applied (with a prescribed fee of Rs. 100.00) for the same within one week of the declaration of result.
  4. The Third Year B.A. and B.Com., examination, shall be conducted by University twice a year , one first half of hte year in April/May and the other the second half in Oct/Nov.
  5. A project submitted by a student at T.Y.B.A. and B.Com. shall be be evaluated by double assessment. Each project report will be assessed by one internal examiner ( the guiding teacher) and one external examiner (appointed by Goa University). a group of students carrying out a project collectively shall submit 2 copies of the project for evaluation.
  6. The report should ordinarily consists of 30-40 typed or neatly hand written 100 to 200 pages in a register.
  7. The examination of hte project paper shall carry 100 marks. There shall be a viva-voice examination of each student submitting a project report which will be conducted by the external examiner. The internal examiner is permitted to remain present at the time of viva-voce examination.
  8. In case a student fails in the project paper, he/she may be permitted to resubmit the same project with modification under the same guiding teacher. In case, the guiding teacher has retired or is not available, the candidate may be permitted to submit the project under any other guiding teacher appointed by the principal.
  9. A studend may be permitted to submit a fresh project under the guidance of a teacher, provided he/she seeks admission in the concerned college for a period of minimum one term and pays the prescribed fees thereof.
  10. In case of students who fail in theory papers and are reappearing for T.Y.B.A./B.Com examinations, marks obtained for project work shall be carried forward for declaration of results ad such students shall be eligible for the award of class.
  11. In case of students who appear for T.Y.B.A/B.Com. examinations under improvement of class scheme or to improve percentage ( under 0.47.15-), marks obtained for project work shall be carried forwad for the declaration of results and such student shall be eligible for the award of class.
  12. To pass the examination at T.Y.B.A/B.Com., a candidate must obtain a minimum of 30% marks in each paper/head of passing and 40% in the aggregate.
  13. A candidate may apply for revaluation as 0.5.17
  14. Class shall be awarded in F.Y., S.Y. and T.Y. of B.A., and B.Com. examinations on the following basis:
    40% and above but less than 50% Pass Class .
    50% and above but less than 60% Second Class .
    60% and above but less than 70% First Class.
    70% and above Distinction.
